ABOUT US

One afternoon I began to make a hat for myself and on a whim I thought I’d try something different. Much to my delight, when I put the hat on, I had kitty ears! I showed it to my boyfriend and he agreed – super cute kitty ears.

My mom—who is quite biased when it comes to her baby girl—loved it, of course. She told me about a craft fair at my nephew’s school and asked if I’d be interested in selling a few hats there. I hadn’t really thought about selling them, but any time with my mom is a great time, so I agreed. Much to my surprise and delight, I sold all of the Pussycat Hats I had made. The best part was seeing the expressions of everyone who tried on the hats. Their joy was contagious and it made me truly happy. One of the moms came to me and told me that I had started a new fashion trend at the school!

Since the craft fair was such a success, my mom insisted that I try to get a booth at the Cornish Christmas craft fair in Grass Valley. It seemed like a crazy idea—over a hundred miles from home and every Friday from Thanksgiving to Christmas—but with a lot of encouragement from family and friends, I decided to do it. After much knitting madness, it was such a delight to see the joy on everyone’s faces when they tried on the hats. (I want to give some props to all of the guys who loved the hats too!)
My future plans include working at more craft fairs and shows throughout California. I am currently working on new kittylicious designs for fun accessories.

Angele lives in El Cerrito, California. She is a crafty kitty with a loving boyfriend and has three cats – Amen Ra, Marcello, and Casanova Frankenstein (a feral that she couldn’t resist).
